Visited the land of Bali last August and loved every bit of it. Not because I felt like a millionaire in that island but more for it’s beauty and friendly people. Was there for 5 days 4 nights courtesy of AirAsia free tickets. Seriously because of AirAsia everyone can now fly…
Bali is such a beautiful island but sadly I didn’t manage to explore enough and left out quite a few attractions. While I was in Bali I was considreing making Bali a yearly vacation destination cos I really like it there but now looking at the economic situation, maybe I’ll visit once every 3 years anybody up for it?
The over crowded Kuta Beach
So why do I like Bali so much?
1. Things are cheap there and bargaining is a joy there. (Oh yeah, I enjoy competitive bargaining I wonder why they havent turn it into an olmypics sport yet)
2. The sights and scenery is beautiful, no I’m not talking about the beach babes, I’m talking bout the architecture and the nature it has to offer.. .. .. and also a little bout the former…
3. The local people are very friendly peace loving humans, and being able to speak their language definitely made the trip more enjoyable. (cos then they can’t really con you)
Kuta Beach also a Surfer Beach… can see many half naked surfer dudes with a toned body, six packs ab, muscular arms….. ok.. this is getting a bit wayward.
We stayed in a budget, also known as bed & breakfast hotel which was rather small but clean! Yes cleanliness is an important aspect anywhere you stay in. Basically it is so small there’s just enough space for you to wear your pants… haha.. ok.. not that small la.
Bamboo Bed & Breakfast, that’s pratically the whole room man.
Then for another 2 nights we moved to a more spacious hotel, famously known as The Hard Rock Hotel. I was excited to finally stay in a Hard Rock Hotel, but when I got there I was a tad disappointed. It was a little old and i think it has been over rated.
They have nice deco there…
I have to add that everything is good except the food. I would say that the food is just average, if you compare to Thailand, where MSG is treasured and respected, Balinese food is quite bland. I tried the famous Nasi Satay Pulut and also had quite a substantial amount of Bakso…

Nasi Satay Pulut… and Bakso..
Then there’s the famous Nasi Babi Guling that I’ve heard countless stories about… It’s the must-have babi of all time, and so we decided to try, and only try the best, which is supposingly situated in Ubud name Ibu Oka. A bit dissapointed… don’t really know which part of the pig is being offered..haha
Supposingly the best-lah, according to lonely planet..
That’s the poor little pig that we indulge in, one day they can sell bout 4-5 pigs.
This is what you get…. sigh.. all the way there…. to be dissapointed.. haha
Besides the food, shopping is quite fun there, that is if you love to bargain. I love a good bargain, I love the adrenaline, the blood rushing through my brain when I’m figthing for a good price. I’m sorry but I’m a cheapo. Other than shopping we manage to capture some sunset too. I guess sunset by the beach is the same everywhere… same sun just different beach. So here are some of the photos taken by Weng Soon and I of the same sun… I am all about the SUN man…

Well, there are plenty of sights yet to be discovered by me and many more activities to be done… so here are a few things we did in Bali…
Pay homage to the Bali Bomb victims…

Indulge in Seafood….

Get drunk and act silly….

Pose with a Hard Rock Signage….

Do some water sports…

Take more sunset pics…
Ok gonna call it a post… till i visit Bali again… ciaoz
