Alternative Source

When tainted milk and crappy eggs ruled our world…. an alternative must be found, and one has taken advantage of the situation. Saw the signboard below near my home, it was huge… it was brightly litted… and I bet it is yummy too…

I could so create a tagline to go with the advert.
“Free of Melamine, Full of Vitamins”

iLove me iPhone

iThink that iPhone is one of the best thing man ever created. iKnow because iBought an iPhone recently… and it totally rocksss… iDont understand why there are just so many rave reviews bout iPhone, cos frankly speaking nothing can be perfect, but iPhone just verbalise the word near perfection. iLike you Steve Jobs, keep up the good work at Apple and don’t spread rumors about you dying…. not until you perfected the iPhone.

iGot my IPhone courtesy of my Nokia N95. iHad to say farewell to my not-so-faithful N95 after serving me for more than a year. Not-so-faithful because the phone has many time restarted while iAm on conversations and just hang when it restarts, subsequently increasing my blood pressure and losing bits and pieces of my hair. So it was a real joy when the mobile operator was willing to accept my N95 for a $300 trade-in. Hence iBought the iPhone for free after further promotion deduction. iYipee.

BYYYYEEEEEE

So far iHave only one complain about the iPhone, the battery. iReckon the battery should just run non-stop because so far iHave twice played with my iPhone until the battery ran flat. It’s so addictive especially when iCan facebook practically anywhere iGo. It is indeed a device that packs everything.

iM indeed happy & please with my latest acquisition… Just in case you are wondering how much the iPhone is worth in Singapore… There are different plans with different prices, so i’ll just state mine.

The 8GB phone is $348 with a 2 year contract of $48 per month. Then with my trade-in iGot $300 off. That leaves me with $48 but on the day iBought my phone, there was a promo giving $50 off to iPhone purchasers. That’s why iDidn’t need to pay anything. =) But iAlso subscribe to the Mobile broadband which cost $20 p/month.. so all in all my monthly bill will not come cheap…. =(

G1 is the new thang..

Presenting a new phone launch in the US…. the G1..

google_g1_phone_desktop.jpg picture by ro9do

The Android G1 by HTC. Android sound like some Star Wars character…Anyway, this baby is here to compete with the iphone. So much is going on about the iphone, so there’s definitely a need for a competition. This phone is a joint development by Google and HTC… so it should be good… if not powderful..

These are it’s specification.. pretty impressive…

Processor Qualcomm® MSM7201A™, 528 MHz
Operating System Android™
Dimensions (LxWxT) 117.7 mm x 55.7 mm x 17.1 mm
(4.60 in x 2.16 in x 0.62 in)
Weight 158 grams (5.60 ounces) with battery
Display 3.2-inch TFT-LCD flat touch-sensitive screen with 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution
Keyboard Slide-out 5-row QWERTY keyboard
Camera 3.2 megapixel color camera with auto focus
GPS                   GPS navigation capability with Google Maps™
Special Features Digital Compass, Motion Sensor

I guess it will function better as a phone (compare to iphone) but it will not look as sleek, as cool as owning an iphone… it looks like another HTC Touch Pro, with cooler functions.

I don’t know when it will be out in the Asian markets, I’m sure it won’t be as long as iphone… So if you intend to get a new phone… you might wanna consider this baby…

My recent trip to Bali

Visited the land of Bali last August and loved every bit of it. Not because I felt like a millionaire in that island but more for it’s beauty and friendly people. Was there for 5 days 4 nights courtesy of AirAsia free tickets. Seriously because of AirAsia everyone can now fly…

Bali is such a beautiful island but sadly I didn’t manage to explore enough and left out quite a few attractions. While I was in Bali I was considreing making Bali a yearly vacation destination cos I really like it there but now looking at the economic situation, maybe I’ll visit once every 3 years anybody up for it?

DSCN9773-1.jpg picture by ro9doThe over crowded Kuta Beach

So why do I like Bali so much?

1. Things are cheap there and bargaining is a joy there. (Oh yeah, I enjoy competitive bargaining I wonder why they havent turn it into an olmypics sport yet)

2. The sights and scenery is beautiful, no I’m not talking about the beach babes, I’m talking bout the architecture and the nature it has to offer.. .. .. and also a little bout the former…

3. The local people are very friendly peace loving humans, and being able to speak their language definitely made the trip more enjoyable. (cos then they can’t really con you)

CIMG0902-1.jpg picture by ro9doKuta Beach also a Surfer Beach… can see many half naked surfer dudes with a toned body, six packs ab, muscular arms….. ok.. this is getting a bit wayward.

We stayed in a budget, also known as bed & breakfast hotel which was rather small but clean! Yes cleanliness is an important aspect anywhere you stay in. Basically it is so small there’s just enough space for you to wear your pants… haha.. ok.. not that small la.

CIMG0890-1.jpg picture by ro9doBamboo Bed & Breakfast, that’s pratically the whole room man.

Then for another 2 nights we moved to a more spacious hotel, famously known as The Hard Rock Hotel. I was excited to finally stay in a Hard Rock Hotel, but when I got there I was a tad disappointed. It was a little old and i think it has been over rated.

CIMG0980-1.jpg picture by ro9doThey have nice deco there…

I have to add that everything is good except the food. I would say that the food is just average, if you compare to Thailand, where MSG is treasured and respected, Balinese food is quite bland. I tried the famous Nasi Satay Pulut and also had quite a substantial amount of Bakso…

CIMG0880.jpg picture by ro9doCIMG0974.jpg Bakso picture by ro9do

Nasi Satay Pulut… and Bakso..

Then there’s the famous Nasi Babi Guling that I’ve heard countless stories about… It’s the must-have babi of all time, and so we decided to try, and only try the best, which is supposingly situated in Ubud name Ibu Oka. A bit dissapointed… don’t really know which part of the pig is being offered..haha

CIMG1004.jpg Ubud - Babi Guling picture by ro9doSupposingly the best-lah, according to lonely planet..

CIMG1009.jpg Ubud - Babi Guling picture by ro9doThat’s the poor little pig that we indulge in, one day they can sell bout 4-5 pigs.

CIMG1007.jpg Ubud - Babi Guling picture by ro9doThis is what you get…. sigh.. all the way there…. to be dissapointed.. haha

Besides the food, shopping is quite fun there, that is if you love to bargain. I love a good bargain, I love the adrenaline, the blood rushing through my brain when I’m figthing for a good price. I’m sorry but I’m a cheapo. Other than shopping we manage to capture some sunset too. I guess sunset by the beach is the same everywhere… same sun just different beach. So here are some of the photos taken by Weng Soon and I of the same sun… I am all about the SUN man…

Well, there are plenty of sights yet to be discovered by me and many more activities to be done… so here are a few things we did in Bali…

I survived a Japanese Game Show

There’s this new reality tv show being aired on Channel 5 Singapore I’m not too sure when Astro is gonna screen it… but you should check it out on Youtube. It’s a reality show with a twist and it’s a breath of fresh air from the usual survivor, amazing race or bachelor kinda genre.

I_Survived_a_Japanese_Game_Show_log.png picture by ro9do

It’s about this group of American contestants being flown to Japan to participate in various crazy wacky Japanese Game Show games. It was a real eye opener for them because, truth be told, Japanese people can really think of the most stupidest games on planet earth. For example…

human-tetris01.jpg picture by ro9do

The Human Tetris Game where participants must shape their body according to the cutting on the board so that they would not fall into a pool of water. This game is now a hit all over the world… how ingenious.

cast-japanese-game-show.png picture by ro9doThe victims

So you probably can imagine what the americans have to face now… i have to say the games are just horridly funny and crazy. The Japanese audience seem to enjoy laughing at the americans and their antics. At least now Japanese got a way to release their stress… laugh at the americans…

i_survived_5.jpg picture by ro9do

The audience hired to laugh at the Americans. There’s this one dude who is really funny (in red) you can see him in almost all the episode… his look is pure classic… I think he can be the next host of a Japanese game show.

Every episode consists of two games. The first game determine the group/individual winner where a reward will be waiting for the winner. The second game is for elimination, where 2 chosen contestants go head to head to avoid elimination.

The Host of the Game.. Hai…Majide

I don’t wanna burst any bubbles, so if you got time (no time also pls make time) go watch all the episodes of ‘I Survived a Japanese Game Show’. Just 7 episodes… but 7 good episode of laughter. BTW, the eventual winner will get to win USD250,000…. worth all the shame and anguish if you ask me.

Oh and I heard that Malaysia also has a show something like it… It’s ending soon but I’m sure it’s just as entertaining as this one….

610x.jpg picture by ro9doYeah he sure did survived… but did he emerge a winner?

Watch the first episode below… NO! not the malaysian version..
